Purpose of Meeting
The ancient game of mahjong, which first captured America’s attention in the 1920s, is making a comeback—and the Friends of the Joplin Public Library are hosting it at the Library on the second and fourth Mondays in October and November.
Beginners will receive instruction starting at 1:30 pm and experienced players can play from 2 to 4 pm. If you're an experienced player and want to help the beginners you are invited to come at 1:30 pm. And if you have a Mahjong set please bring it along.
Whether you are a seasoned player or brand new to the game, pull up a chair, shuffle the tiles, and join us—there’s always room at the mahjong table.
