Event Details

Join Post Art Library for the opening of Surrealism, an exhibit by Joplin High School art students, inside the Library's Local History wing.

Students from the Drawing and Painting classes created surrealist pieces as their capstone project for the close of the semester. They could use any or all of the materials they worked with throughout the semester, as well as choose the size and subject matter of their surrealist pieces. The Drawing students worked with graphite, charcoal, ink, and colored pencil, while the Painting students worked with watercolor & acrylic paint and chalk & oil pastel.

The exhibit will be judged by Jade Henning-Cantrell, the Administrator & Gift Shop Coordinator for Spiva Center for the Arts, with first, second, and third places announced during the reception.

This event is free and open to the public.
