Calling all puzzle enthusiasts! Put your jigsaw puzzle skills to the test! Register a group of 1-4 adults and compete against other teams to see who can finish a 500 piece puzzle first.

Dog Day Afternoon is designed to help newly independent readers become more comfortable reading!

This program is designed for individuals 18 years and up with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and a support person. We explore a book through a storytime that includes reading, hanging out, activities, and crafts! 

Teens in grades 6-12 can bring Y.A. (teen) fiction, nonfiction, poetry, graphic novels, manga, etc. to swap in the Teen Dept.

Watch anime, read manga, make art, and hang out with us!

Whether you crochet, knit, stitch, draw, or paint, bring along your current project and chat with us! All crafts are welcome!

Pick up the February adult take-home kit in the Reference Department, while supplies last! This kit includes instructions and supplies to create Valentine's themed string art on a card. 

Community members are invited to the Joplin Public Library's All-Ages Black History Fair. Connect with your community, hear from members and organizations in Joplin, and learn about Black history, present, and future in Joplin and beyond!

The title says it all - come hang out! Legos, crafts, movies, video/board games, STEM, and more in the Teen dept. Grades 6-12

Cozy up with your family and join the Children’s Department as we read a few good stories and sing some songs.

Ages 3-12

Bring some trinkets to trade! Handmade or bought are both welcome. Rocks, keychains, figurines, little things, shiny things, rare things, colorful things, etc... Teen Dept. Grades 6-12

The Next Gen. Library Council presents a Kids' Fair benefitting Children's Haven in Joplin!

Join us as we learn about African American engineer Raye Montague. We will learn about buoyancy and her work to help heavy ships float and then complete a related activity!
