Escape Joplin is coming to the Library! Register a group of up to 6 people or join forces with an already formed group and try to solve the Escape Room before time runs out.

Learn how to make your own dog or cat toys/accessories. A portion of the donated toys will be donated to Joplin Humane Society. 

Ages 10-13. This program will take place in the Teen Department.

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive at the Joplin Public Library from 11am to 4pm today. The blood drive will take place in the Community Room.

Join us as we explore the habitats of animals and discover their journeys. We will track and observe your favorite critters, big and small!

Ages 6 and up

Grab an adult take-home kit in the Reference Department! June's kit is Adventures in Art and includes supplies to paint on canvas. Kits are first come, first served, and are designed for ages 18+. 

Participants of this book club will learn about a variety of animals through hands-on activities. Participants will receive a copy of Naomi Nash: Saving Snakes by Jessica Anderson, which we will read and discuss. 

Ages 8-12

Join the Children’s Department and Master Gardener Eric Osen in learning about pollinators and plants! Participants will make their own bee houses and plant and take home a flower!

The Board of Trustees is a policymaking board and is fiscally responsible for how the Library’s funds are spent. With a few exceptions, the Board meets every month on the 3rd Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the Community Room at the Library.

An Outreach Worker from Economic Security will be at the library for free consultations.

Naturalists from Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center present “Reptiles of Missouri.” Learn about (and meet!) turtles, lizards, and snakes of Missouri. This program is through the Missouri Department of Conservation.
